The Man Behind the Hive

Since 2000Three generationsOne philosophy

We do not feel old. We do not feel slow. We do not feel tired. We are more energized, more excited, more adventurous, more agile.

The origin

Why BEES?

In a beehive, every bee exists to protect and grow the queen bee. At BEES, the queen bee is the client’s capital. Every person on the team is a worker bee—protecting and growing it.

The business runs on trust, referrals, and relationships, exactly how bees network. The name BEES NetWork was the natural conclusion.

Four words. Since 2000.

"achieve MORE ... from less" has been BEES NetWork’s guiding principle since day one. Every strategy, recommendation, and conversation is filtered through that promise: more growth, less risk.

Milestones

Living through market history

2000

BEES NetWork is founded with a mission to help Indian families achieve more from less.

2004

The first major market correction brings hard lessons about managing fear—in markets and in people. That same year, Bharat’s daughter Khimaya is born.

2008-09

Lehman Brothers collapses and Citibank’s share price reaches $1. The offices go quiet, yet before year-end Bharat’s son is born; the worst professional year becomes the most transformative personal one.

2020

During COVID-19 and the market freefall, BEES navigates the panic and recovery alongside every client.

2022

The Russia–Ukraine invasion rattles global markets. BEES reads the crisis and finds the opportunity.

2025

A new chapter: expanding the team, building new technology, and continuing to improve the client experience.

In his own words

A philosophy tested in real markets

On skin in the game

“We have never distinguished between our client’s money and our money. If something is not good for us, it’s not good for our clients.”

On every rupee

“We treat every single rupee as a million dollars. Every penny counts, every rupee counts, every buck counts.”

On saying no

“We have never minced words. We have never felt scared to say no. We’ve never felt intimidated by size.”

On the mission

“We help you dream. We help you make them come true. And we want to be there when those dreams eventually come true.”

On mutual growth

“If we live together, we will eventually profit together.”

On technology

“AI cannot take accountability or give compassion. AI can provide digital solutions—we provide human solutions.”

The secret sauce

She was always the queen bee.

In 2004, while BEES faced its first major market correction, Bharat Bagla’s daughter Khimaya was born. Her name is a deliberate twist on “Kimaya,” meaning divine—the magic, luck, charm, blessings, and divine force he associates with her.

Years later, the connection became clear: if the queen bee is the one everything exists to protect, Khimaya—the secret sauce behind BEES—had always been the queen bee.

Three generations

Trust that outlives the handshake.

Clients who started with BEES in their twenties are now in their fifties. Their children invest with BEES, and in some cases their grandchildren do too. These are family relationships, not transactions.

Some client relationships have continued across generations.

“It’s gratifying because we knew what we were doing was the right thing.”
